Cultural Village and Artist Walk

The Lacombe Crab Festival announced the highlights of their Cultural Village and Artists Walk. The two day event scheduled for June 27th and 28th will showcase artisans that will demonstrate their artistic process as well as artisans that will sell their products.
The 2009 Festival Poster artist is Adam Sambola. The poster will be for sale at the Festival. The poster design will also be in-cluded on the 2009 T-Shirts. The Festival will also sell Golf Shirts, Aprons, and Chef Hats with their signature crab.
Included in the Cultural Village and Artists Walk will be the Let-ters To The Soldiers booth. “We provide paper, pens, stickers, and envelopes for our visitors to jot down a few words or draw pictures for our soldiers,” said organizer Sandy Haynes. “Last year we mailed out over 500 letters to Iraq and Afghanistan.”
Exhibitions by the Southeast Louisiana Refuges and the Louisi-ana Crab Task Force will be held in the Air Conditioned Commu-nity Center. The Louisiana Spirit of the Volunteers of America will display their services to our community and provide an activ-ity for the children. Local Louisiana authors from JANLO pub-lishing will sign and sell their award winning books. Additional craft, artisans, and jewelry vendors will display and sell their creations.

The Cultural Village and Artists Walk will be open from 11 – 8 PM on Saturday and 12 – 6 PM on Sunday. To apply for a space, contact Jacki Schneider @ jmslacombe@charter.net or 882-3010.
